Hattie The Hedgehog Box

Hattie the Hedgehog Box - Built by Wildlife and Birdcare Nature Recovery Project CIC.  Our hedgehog box was created using a design provided by the British Hedgehog preservation Society.   Hattie is made from homegrown larch and sourced from a FSC supplier.  The wood is NOT stained or treated.  The bottom of the box has a roofing felt base which helps to keep out the damp.  The tunnel is 300mm and the tunnel opening is 130x130mm.  The box has no internal walls.  This box is compliant and SAFE for your hedgehog.  

When you receive your box home, place it in a quiet, shady, sheltered, dry spot in your garden (for example against a wall, fence, hedge or garden shed) with cover and hope that you will have a visit from a hedgehog seeking a home. Make sure the entrance to the house does not face North or North East, thus avoiding the cold winter winds. It may then become the winter home for some lucky hedgehog.

Always remember to feed the hedgehogs with a safe,compliant British Hedgehog Food, we suggest ‘Brambles’.
