Protective Bird Box Hole Cover Plate - sold by Wildlife and Birdcare When you are aiming to attract all species of wild birds to your nest boxes, you need to hang the box in a north-facing position and at least 2.5 metres off the floor.  It’s also important to consider what sized birds fit into what nest box and therefore the entrance hole is really important to make sure this is correct.  To protect this entrance hole even further from woodpeckers and other birds from trying to enter the box who should not, then these protective metal entrance plates will help.  We sell a pack of 3 with different sized holes.

• Small birds such as blue, coal, and marsh tits, Great tits and tree sparrows 32mm
• Larger birds inc house sparrows, nuthatches and woodpeckers:46mm
